When you install a PVC security ID card system at your place of business, you’re investing in more than security. That’s because PVC ID cards have a wide variety of applications that can help to provide businesses with technology-driven solutions to old problems. They can also make life more convenient on a day-to-day basis. Here are 5 of the most useful ways that you can use PVC ID cards that you probably didn’t realize were possible.
1.Tracking Employees
This feature combines a security feature with a capability that can help a business to function more efficiently. That’s because it can be useful for a company to keep track of their employees for a variety of reasons.
If your employees are clocking in and out at specified hours, then by using PVC ID card printing software to keep track of employees, you can easily track every minute that each person on your team spends at the office. This can be a very useful tool when monitoring employee performance for a variety of reasons.
2.Helping New Employees to Become a Part of the Team
It’s difficult for anyone new to get comfortably situated within the culture and habits of a new work environment. It’s also difficult for a large number of employees to get to know each other well and remember everyone’s name. Since employees are often required to keep their ID cards visible at all times by wearing lanyards or badge reels, having security ID cards as part of your security system allows your employees to be able to easily recognize each other and learn one another’s names.
3.Acquainting Customers with Employees
When you’re looking for a PVC ID card printer for your business, don’t forget to also consider investing in accessories for your employees to ensure that they wear their PVC security ID cards visibly. Any business that involves an interaction between customers and staff necessitates positive interactions. Giving your customers a way to remember the faces and names of your employees will help to ensure that more positive interactions occur and increase customer satisfaction.
4.Promote Company Branding
When your employees carry your company name and brand on their ID cards, they take it with them everywhere they go. If your customers associate your company brand with personnel that are kind and courteous, then their loyalty will increase and so will your revenues.
5.Digital Connectivity
PVC ID card printers – like the Polaroid ID Card system – can include a wide variety of security technology features, and that technology can also be used for a wide range of digital services. Beyond advanced lamination and magnetic stripe encoding, PVC Security ID cards can be printed to include contact card encoding and contactless card encoding.
These features are commonly used in
·Bank Cards
·Access Control Security IDs,
·Government IDs
·Healthcare Cards
In order to take advantage of all of these applications, you’ll want to invest in a complete security ID card printing system. By owning your own ID card printer for your company, you can decide on the best services for your company.
There’s nothing quite like the luxury of belonging to a members-only sports club. You get access to the best equipment and the best services. You don’t have to worry about crowds, and you don’t have to worry about unwanted guests disturbing your enjoyment or interrupting gameplay.
The key to such luxuries is proper security. It isn’t very useful to have your members pay premium membership fees to belong to an elite club if non-members can sneak in and gain access to the facilities, crowding things up and potentially damaging club equipment and facilities. To ensure this situation doesn’t come to pass, you’ve got to do more than simply keep your entrances staffed with security and put up fencing.
Keeping track of all of the members of a private sports club requires advanced digital services. The answer is to opt to get your members their own cards that have the technological ability to provide an expert security solution to ensure that only club members are able to access facilities – and can also be used by club members to access services and equipment.
Given the current boom in popularity of private clubs, you’ll require a security system with the capacity to keep track of a large number of guests. For a facility with a large membership, you’ll want to invest in a top-of-the-line, high-resolution security ID card printer, like the Fargo HDP5600 ID card system, which has the capacity to print more than 5000 security ID cards in a single year. The high-resolution capabilities of this type of printer will also satisfy members who expect high-quality services to be provided at an elite club.
A security system that uses membership ID cards and printers can offer your security crew the ability to keep digital records on every single person who gains access to your location. Such a system acts as a preventative measure, ensuring your best recourse to keeping non-members from gaining entrance to facilities. Since these records are kept in a database on your security system computer, they can also help authorities to identify perpetrators if any kind of crime takes place on your property.
Digital security ID cards can be programmed to contain data about every single guest in your club, so they can be used by members to gain access to various areas and obtain equipment within the club.
Each one of these services then acts as a security checkpoint to enable security to identify any non-members who might have gained entrance. These abilities make the function of your security ID cards more dynamic while reducing the potential for security breaches or criminal activity.
A professional security ID card system offers your private sports club a way to increase its security capabilities while providing an increased number of enhanced services to its members. Don’t underestimate your club’s security, contact Avon Security Products to see what’s available for elite customers.
A digital ID card system is an incomparable way to offer your company an advanced security option that’s easy for your employees to use and is also affordable. If you want to get the most out of your security system, however, it’s important that you learn about the extra features it can offer – such as the ability to issue temporary visitor ID cards to anyone that requires access to your property for a short period of time.
The Benefits of a Security ID Card System
If you’ve ever gone through the process of researching security products for your business or organization then you probably already have a professional security ID cards system in place at your company to help ensure the safety of all of your employees, provide higher security clearance to anyone that requires access to sensitive areas, and keep track of any valuable goods on the premises.
Other Available Security Features
With all of these services included in such a system, it can be easy to overlook something as simple as the ability to issue temporary ID cards to anyone who visits your company, but chances are that there are a number of of visitor and lobby security products available for the security solution that you’re currently using at your place of business.
Investing in a Company Security ID Card Printer
Companies that recognize the value of their security solution usually invest in a security ID card printer to use at their business. A variety of security ID card printers are available to meet the needs of any sized company – from machines that can print up to 200 cards per year, like the Javelin PRO ID card system, to those that can supply over 5000 employees with security ID cards, like the Fargo DTC4500e printer.
Scaling Up the Size of Your Company and Upgrading Your System
If your company has increased its number of employeessince you last invested in your security solution, then you should consider reviewing the options currently available to ensure that you have the best security ID printer to match your current personnel requirements.
Options for Visitor ID Cards
In addition to the many benefits of security ID cards that you already know about, you can get more out of your system by offering temporary passes to any visitor who comes to access your property. Visitor passes are a good way to reinforce your company brand to outsiders, but they also help to ensure that your whole system is working at its best capacity. It’s vital that every single person who enters your location be issued an ID card so that they are registered in your system.
Using Visitor Passes as Branding
An additional benefit of temporary visitor passes is that when a visitor’s security ID card expires, it can also act as a company business card and thus provide anyone who visits your company with a unique souvenir of their trip. When the visitors who come to your offices are potential future clients, this aspect of the visitor security pass can help to boost future revenue and turn a security expense into an investment with a calculable ROI.
For the purpose of security, an ID card printer is a worthwhile investment for a company of any size. If you already have such a security solution in use, then you should expand its capabilities to include the use of visitor passes – it’s an easy feature to use and will provide an enormous benefit to your company.
In the first part of this feature on how digital security ID cards help construction workers, the focus was on the cards themselves and how they’re used to manage employees, job site security, and the tracking of expensive building equipment and materials.
This second installment brings more uses into purview by focusing on how the equipment that’s used to print and manage ID cards can be especially useful on the job site – as well as how getting accessories when you purchase ID cards for your crew can play a pivotal role in allowing construction workers to keep their ID card system functioning with minimal damage or losses.
Exceptional Durability
While digital ID cards contain advanced technology, their durability is one of the features that you can rely on when you implement ID cards for your construction company and distribute them among crews working on hazardous job sites. Most security ID cards are made of 100% PVC and can be housed in protective overlays or vinyl badge holders to provide even further protection.
With these options available, your security ID cards shouldn’t need to be replaced very often, even on the most hazardous job sites – but they can still get lost. To prevent the loss of your security ID cards, be sure to provide your crew with lanyards or badge clips. Retractable badge reels are another excellent loss-prevention option since they allow quick and easy access.
Buy an ID Card Printing System
If your crew’s security ID cards do get damaged, you’ll be glad that you bought a complete ID card printing system and put it to use right on the construction site. Not only will this make it much easier to equip each new employee with their own ID card, it will also allow you to replace any lost or damaged cards on the spot. Considering how much money that an ID card printing system will save you in the long run, when it keeps your workers from wasting time waiting around for new cards, your purchase will be well worth the investment.
Computerized Tracking System
One of the benefits of the tracking system that comes with your complete security ID card printing system is that it maintains a database of employees. If you’re dealing with a workplace where cards can easily get damaged or lost, you should call us to see how we can help you implement a system that allows you to save employee information to make it available at the click of a mouse.
When you save time with a properly organized security system, you’ll also save you and your employees valuable work time; that’s because you won’t have to spend time entering all of their details into the system again and redesigning their ID cards – the employee’s profile will already be saved and all ready to use for printing a second copy of the card.
With so many benefits to construction companies, including top-of-the-line security features, you won’t want to start a project without a security ID card system. Contact us today to learn more about how to get set up with a complete security system for your construction crew.

A new in-house ID card printing system can allow you to print anywhere from 25 to over 5000 ID cards in a year, depending on your needs.
If you have a large number of employees, then purchasing a company printer can make it much easier to equip new personnel with ID cards or replace lost cards for existing employees. You can also purchase a printer-specific cover to promote proper maintenance and protection of your valuable device.
Other system accessories help you to secure better photos for designing your ID cards, which include web cameras, photography backdrops and tripods, and if you are interested in learning more about ID card design, and you can also get in touch with us to learn more about ID card design software.
On the other hand, badge accessories help your employees to take better care of their ID cards, these include lanyards, badge holders, armbands, reels and clips. They can also make security features easier and quicker to use, such as when an employee is able to scan their card through a card reader with one quick pull of a retractable badge reel. Digital card technology might seem like a simple tool, but it’s actually used for a much wider range of purposes than its most commonly recognized use – ID security – would lead you to believe.
Because digital cards, card printer systems and card readers provide a simple, yet highly effective, way to safely and securely transmit small amounts of sensitive data through a computerized tracking system, they can provide a wide variety of industries with solutions to an increasing number of difficult problems.
Going Beyond Basic Security
While ID security card technology may appear basic, it turns out that it’s much more powerful than it would seem at first glance. While many types of businesses and government organizations employ office security products to reduce the risk of criminal activity, they also offer a dual feature of carrying digital data and keeping it secure. This secondary feature can be used to track personnel or equipment, or even provide accurate sensitive data to the right people in the blink of an eye.
Managing Personnel and Equipment
In the construction industry, ID cards are used to help tackle problems that have long been at issue. When you provide ID cards for your crew and put them to use keeping track of equipment, your company will stand to save an enormous amount of money by preventing stolen or missing gear.
Given the cost of the equipment that’s needed on the average construction site, keeping track of equipment and materials may be the most valued use of ID security cards in the eyes of construction companies – but they can also be used to hold important sensitive data regarding that equipment, along with information about building projects, employees – even the materials used on site.
Even More Uses
Given that ID security cards employ advanced technology to keep information secure, they can be used to ensure that no one who’s not granted the proper authority will be able to view any information that isn’t meant to be public. When you provide ID cards for your construction company and crew, not only does the work site become more secure, but security capabilities are increased as well!
Deciding on a Printing Solution
Your company may find it more useful to purchase a complete security ID card printing system for the main office – or even provide one to each individual construction site so that digital ID cards can be made quickly, on-the-spot for each new employee that gains access to the work area. If you need help determining what ID card printing solution will work best for your business, you can call us to see how we can help you decide what equipment you’ll need and how often you’ll need to print new security cards.
The number of ways that ID security card technology can be put to use it virtually endless. For the construction industry, ID security cards are helping to prevent theft and error in ways that have never been possible before.
By contacting a professional ID security card solutions company like Avon Security Products, you’ll ensure that your construction company is ready to deal with theft! Update your construction team with security technology that works!
ID security cards are secure identification tools used to verify employees, control building access, track workplace activity, and support safer day to day operations. Modern security cards often include photo identification, RFID technology, access permissions, attendance tracking, and visitor management capabilities that integrate directly with workplace security systems.
Today’s organizations need more than simple name badges. Businesses, schools, healthcare facilities, warehouses, government offices, and commercial buildings all rely on secure identification systems to help manage who can access certain spaces, protect sensitive information, improve accountability, and support smoother operations across multiple departments.
Modern employee security cards now serve as part of larger workplace security ecosystems. A single card can unlock doors, verify employee identity, track attendance, manage visitor access, and support digital authentication systems all at once.
At Avon Security Products, we help organizations across Canada implement scalable, reliable, and practical ID card systems designed to support long term workplace security and operational efficiency.

1. Physical Access Control That Protects Buildings and Sensitive Areas
One of the most common ways organizations use workplace security cards is for physical access control. Instead of relying on traditional keys, businesses now use RFID security cards and proximity cards to manage who can enter specific doors, departments, offices, or restricted zones. These systems allow organizations to assign different access permissions to different employees based on their role, department, or security clearance.
For example, a healthcare facility may restrict pharmaceutical storage areas to authorized staff only. A warehouse may limit inventory access to supervisors and logistics personnel. A school may use employee security cards to secure administrative offices and staff entrances.
Modern access control cards also help organizations respond faster when staffing changes occur. Lost cards can be disabled immediately without replacing physical locks or rekeying entire buildings.
The U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology also highlights how RFID based access systems help organizations strengthen facility security and credential management through more controlled authentication processes.
At Avon Security Products, we help businesses implement scalable complete ID Card Systems that support secure, manageable access control across multiple workplace environments.
2. Photo Identification That Improves Workplace Security and Accountability
Photo identification remains one of the simplest but most effective workplace security tools. Security ID badges help employees quickly identify staff members, contractors, visitors, vendors, and temporary personnel throughout a facility. In larger organizations, this improves both operational efficiency and workplace safety.
Photo identification becomes especially important in environments where multiple departments, shifts, or public visitors are present throughout the day. Hospitals, educational facilities, manufacturing plants, government offices, and commercial buildings all benefit from fast visual identification.
Well designed employee security cards can include:
Employee names
Department information
Job titles
Company branding
Barcode or RFID functionality
Expiry dates
Security permissions
Emergency contact information
Professional badge systems also help reinforce workplace professionalism and company identity while supporting stronger internal security procedures.
Government organizations across Canada also rely heavily on secure identification card systems to manage employee, contractor, and visitor access within controlled facilities. Organizations looking to modernize identification workflows often benefit from integrated workplace security identification solutions that combine badge printing, card management software, and secure credential design into one manageable system.
3. Time and Attendance Tracking That Simplifies Employee Management
Modern workplace security cards are also widely used for time and attendance tracking. Instead of relying on manual sign in sheets or outdated punch clock systems, organizations can use employee badges to monitor attendance, shift changes, break times, and facility entry logs automatically.
This creates several operational advantages:
Reduced administrative workload
Improved payroll accuracy
Better attendance reporting
Faster shift verification
Stronger accountability
Easier workforce management
For organizations with large workforces or multiple facilities, integrated attendance systems can significantly reduce manual errors while improving reporting consistency.
Warehouses, manufacturing facilities, healthcare organizations, and large office environments often benefit the most from these systems because they handle high employee volumes across multiple schedules and departments.
Reliable hardware also plays a major role in long term system performance. Compact badge printers like the Evolis Zenius 2 help organizations produce professional employee badges efficiently while maintaining consistent print quality for everyday workplace use.
4. Visitor Management That Creates Safer and More Organized Facilities
Visitor management has become increasingly important for modern workplace security. Many organizations now use temporary access cards and visitor badges to help monitor guests, contractors, vendors, delivery personnel, and temporary workers entering their facilities.
Without proper visitor tracking, organizations may struggle to verify who is inside a building during emergencies, security incidents, or after hours activity.
Visitor management badge systems help organizations:
Register visitors quickly
Print temporary badges on site
Restrict visitor access areas
Monitor guest activity
Improve emergency accountability
Maintain more professional front desk operations
This is especially important in schools, healthcare facilities, government buildings, and corporate offices where sensitive information, equipment, or restricted areas may be present.
Integrated visitor management badge systems help organizations create more controlled, organized, and secure visitor experiences without slowing down daily operations.
5. Account and Service Access Across Digital and Workplace Systems
Modern security cards now extend far beyond physical doors. Many organizations use workplace security cards for account and service access across printers, computer systems, parking facilities, lockers, cafeterias, membership programs, and internal workplace services.
This creates a more streamlined employee experience while improving digital security management.
Examples include:
Secure printing authentication
Employee login verification
Parking garage access
Equipment checkout systems
Membership and loyalty programs
Cafeteria payment systems
Library or campus access
Multi site employee verification
Integrated RFID security cards help reduce password sharing, improve audit tracking, and simplify employee authentication across multiple systems.
The U.S. General Services Administration outlines how modern Physical Access Control Systems help organizations integrate credentials, authentication, and facility access into broader workplace security operations.
As organizations grow, scalable card systems become increasingly valuable because they allow businesses to expand security capabilities without rebuilding their entire infrastructure. At Avon Security Products, we help organizations invest in practical systems focused on long term growth, flexibility, and reliability while continually improving workplace access control through dependable card technology and scalable identification solutions.
Why Businesses Continue Investing in Modern ID Security Card Systems
Modern workplace security cards solve far more problems than many organizations initially expect. What often begins as a simple employee badge project can quickly evolve into a fully integrated workplace management system that supports security, operations, accountability, visitor management, and digital authentication across an entire organization.
Businesses today need systems that balance strong security with ease of use. That is why scalable card systems matter. Organizations may start with basic photo identification and later expand into access control cards, RFID security cards, attendance tracking, integrated visitor management, and workplace proximity access cards as operational needs evolve.
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency emphasizes that strong physical security measures play an important role in protecting facilities, employees, visitors, and operational assets.
At Avon Security Products, we work closely with organizations to understand:
Facility size
Security requirements
Employee volume
Access control needs
Visitor management goals
Badge printing frequency
Future operational growth
Our goal is to help businesses implement practical systems that remain reliable, manageable, and scalable over time.
Whether an organization needs simple employee badges or fully integrated access control systems, the right technology can significantly improve both security and day to day operational efficiency.

When it comes to academic, arts, or private industry conferences, almost everywhere you turn you find opportunities for branding. If there’s one cardinal rule, it’s that you can’t overdo it. People attend conferences looking to make new connections and learn as much as they can about new developments in their field – just try to find a more receptive audience!
This being the case, no detail should be overlooked. Consider, for example, the branding possibilities offered by identification badges and lanyards, which just about everyone attending a conference will be wearing. Imagine looking out over the sea of faces in a large conference room to see your logo on the lanyards worn by each and every one of them! That could mean hundreds or even thousands of participants, all wearing your logo at a venue endorsed by experts in their field – you can’t get better brand exposure than that!
The only question that remains is how to get your logo on the lanyards and how to get them distributed to the audience and participants. As far as getting the merchandise made, of course, there’s no better solution than Avon Security Products. There are currently a large variety of lanyards and badge accessories available that can be custom made to carry a message of your choice, along with a specific typesetting. Once you’ve made your custom lanyards, all you have to decide is how to get them into the hands of the conference attendees.
If you’re taking part in organizing the conference, it won’t be difficult to distribute your branded accessories. Conferences almost always offer a variety of accessories to everyone who attends, including identification badges and agendas listing conference events, so you should easily be able to include your lanyards into one of the free packages handed out at registration.
Whether you’re organizing one conference or several, you’ll want to consider checking out the latest ID card systems and printers currently available, since purchasing your own printing equipment will give you more control over the speed and style of these items, while saving you money in the long run.
If you’re not in charge of organizing the conference yourself, get in touch with the organizers to see if they’ll allow you to include your free custom lanyards in their registration package. Organizing a conference is an enormous amount of work and includes sponsorships from many sources. You may end up saving the organizers time and money by covering the production of these accessories.
If the organizers aren’t interested in having you contribute to the registration package, then ask whether you can set up an information table where you can distribute these items on your own. The key here will be to offer higher quality lanyards than any others that might be available. You might even consider providing badge reels to make them function better and look more desirable.
Now that you have a plan ready for distributing your custom lanyards, get in touch with us today so we can start designing and manufacturing your items!
Advertising your brand at a conference will allow you exposure to an enormous amount of people, while also bringing authority to your brand. Providing the audience with the free gift of high-quality lanyards will help people remember who you are and want to learn more about your company.

Organizations needing to print less than 25 cards per year may find it more economical to use a card printing service.
Automatically print on both side of the Card?
Dual-sided printers usually cost significantly more than single-sided printers. In some cases a single-sided printer can be used to print both sides of an ID card:
If the back of every card is identical (i.e.: If lost, return to... This card is property of...), you can use a single-sided printer and pre-print a batch of card backs, often using an inexpensive black ribbon. Those cards can be sent through the printer a second time to include customized information on the other side. This method is not recommended for printing on technology cards due to possible damage it could cause to the card.
Even if the back and front is unique for every card, you can print one side of an ID card, flip it over and print the back. This is much more time consuming, and is not recommended for organizations that print a large volume of ID Cards. This method is also not recommended for printing on technology cards due to possible damage it could cause to the card.
Need to use the printer with an Apple MacTM?
Only a few models of ID card printers on the market are compatible with Mac computers.
There is currently not any commercial ID card software that is compatible with Mac computers. If at all possible, we recommend using a PC to manage an ID card system.
